LG Optimus Vu 2; Tech Specs and Features
As mentioned above, there are no significant changes in the design of the Optimus Vu 2. LG has just copied the form factor of its original version. First of all, the phablet keeps up the same boxy look and it also has the same 5-inch display, which is outclassed by the Note 2’s 5.5-inch display. The same 1024×768 pixel resolution and 4:3 aspect ration are also kept up by LG.
Under the hood, the new Vu II is to tout a rather powerful 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm S4 CPU plus 2GB of RAM. The device mounts an 8MP rear camera and it sports 16GB of internal memory, which you expand in help of microSD card slot. The phablet is to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, instead of the latest Jelly Bean version. It will also come with a stylus for easy navigation on the large screen, LG says.
It will have a bigger 2150mAh battery for better performance. Other features contain MHL TV-Out, NFC, DLNA, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and more. The Vu 2 also features voice-over LTE support (VOLTE). The optional waterproof keyfob accessory will let you locate the handset if you mislay it. Lights up for notifications and battery charging statuses are other major attractions. It is set to come in three colors; black, white and pink.
LG Optimus Vs 2 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2
“My colleague Armando Rodriguez found that the wide form factor made the phone uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. In comparison, the Galaxy Note II has an even larger screen, at 5.5 inches, but with a 16:9 aspect ratio that makes the phone narrower and easier to handle,” writes Daniel Ionescu of Tech Hive.
When it comes to the innards, Note 2 is to come with a great 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM and better storage options including 64GB. To top it all, the Note 2 is to feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. It is might a great missing in the Vu 2, which will run on the ICS initially. Of course, in many other aspects like camera, connectivity and battery, the Note 2 is rather better than its LG rival.
